A spirited adventure

The ultimate gin journey through Scotland

We have prepared a sensational tasting tour of Scotland, where you can stay at six of Luxury Scotland’s magnificent hotels – each with its own connection to the country's gin story through signature spirits and local distilleries – and travel in absolute luxury with Little's Chauffeur Drive

From Edinburgh’s historic ports to the wild north coast, distilleries today continue a tradition that began centuries ago – when juniper, spice and craft first mingled on Scottish soil.

This handcrafted six-day itinerary is your invitation to explore it all: the gins, the landscapes, the people – and, of course, the outstanding Luxury Scotland hotels that turn a good trip into an unforgettable experience. Slàinte mhath!

Days one and two
Edinburgh: Where it all began

Your chauffeur from Little’s Chauffeur Drive will greet you at Edinburgh Airport or Waverley Station, whisking you into the heart of the capital in style. Family-run since 1966, Little’s offers the comfort of luxury vehicles and the assurance of knowing every detail is in safe hands – leaving you free to savour the journey.

For your first nights, choose between two Edinburgh icons. There's The Witchery on the Royal Mile, with its nine decadent suites hidden just beside Edinburgh Castle and brimming with Gothic glamour and romance. Or choose Prestonfield House, a baroque 17th-century mansion surrounded by parkland and roaming Highland cattle and peacocks.

Both offer superb dining, atmospheric bars, and of course, impressive gin collections. While in the city, visit the Edinburgh Gin Distillery, a space dedicated to the artistry of botanicals. Wander through the Flavour Arch, join a guided tasting, or indulge in a gin-and-chocolate pairing. The experience is as vibrant and imaginative as the city itself.

Prices start from £716 per room per night at The Witchery and £375 at Prestonfield.

Days three and four
Into Perthshire: Big Tree Country and beyond

After a leisurely breakfast, your chauffeur returns to guide you north to Perthshire. Here, three very different Luxury Scotland members await, each with its own character and own link to Scotland’s gin story.

Monachyle Mhor
A pink-farmhouse-turned-boutique-hideaway in the Trossachs, blending Highland charm with playful creativity. Expect a lochside sauna, farm-to-fork dining, and experiences that run from wine safaris to bee therapy. En route, pause at Stirling Gin Distillery, a family-run distillery set in the shadow of Stirling Castle.

Rates at Monachyle Mhor start from £260 per room per night.

Murrayshall Country Estate
A refined country estate on the edge of Perth, with golf, spa, and fine dining. From here, explore the new £27 million Perth Museum – home to the Stone of Destiny – or wander the grand rooms of Scone Palace, where Scotland’s monarchs were crowned. Nearby, the Perth Distillery Company distils premium gin just steps from the River Tay.

Murrayshall has rooms available from £216 per room per night.

Kinloch House
A family-run retreat in 25 acres of parkland near Blairgowrie, offering a warm, traditional country house welcome. Beyond its oak-panelled halls and fine dining, Kinloch provides easy access to Persie Distillery, known for small-batch gins inspired by canine characters, and loved for its warm, personal tours.

Kinloch House has bedrooms available from £330 per room per night.

Days five and six
The North: The Torridon and Caithness

Your chauffeur will now carry you deep into the Highlands. In Wester Ross, check into The Torridon, the UK’s most northerly five-star hotel. The estate launched its own Arcturus Gin in 2017, distilled with botanicals foraged on the property.

A dedicated gin garden followed in 2019 – an enchanting space where you can trace each ingredient back to the soil. Their guided tastings explore Scotland’s gin regions and chart the spirit’s meteoric rise in recent years – a must-try for budding connoisseurs.

The Torridon has rooms available from £463 per room per night.

Continue further north along the legendary North Coast 500 to Dunnet Bay Distillers, partner of Luxury Scotland and home of Rock Rose Gin. Here, in Britain’s most northerly mainland distillery, each bottle is hand-filled, wax-sealed, and signed. The gins reflect the landscape itself – sea buckthorn, rhodiola, and rose root among the botanicals gathered from Caithness’s rugged shores.

Take time to walk Dunnet’s windswept beaches before turning south once more, with the option to pause at another Luxury Scotland property en route, as you continue further on your adventure or wind your way home.

Every step of your gin journey carefully tailored by Little’s Chauffeur Drive.
