About Kinloch House Hotel

First built as a home in the 1840s, Kinloch House is still family-run and retains a warm, relaxed feel. It’s surrounded by woods and lush parkland with views towards the distant Sidlaw Hills. There’s also a south-facing Victorian walled garden looking over Loch Marlee.

Kinloch House Hotel’s central position in the heart of Perthshire places it within easy reach of Dunkeld, Perth, Dundee and an extensive list of historic sites and outdoor experiences. But there’s no pressure. Do as much (or as little) as you wish during your stay, whether that’s bagging nearby Munros, snowboarding at Glenshee, exploring ancient Scottish castles or simply dozing in front of the crackling log fire with a good book.

Accommodation

The 15 tasteful bedrooms and suites are all individually designed in an authentic country house style, with antique furniture, rich upholstery and many contemporary comforts. The enormous suites are situated at the front of the main hotel building, and benefit from uplifting views over the Perthshire countryside and their own little turreted seating areas for a dash of fairytale romance.

Dining

The seasonal fine dining menu at Kinloch House is designed to showcase the freshness and quality of local produce, featuring game, Aberdeen Angus beef, fish, shellfish and the soft fruit famously farmed in the local area. Residents can also tuck into a light lunch, or on Sundays a more indulgent, three-course traditional roast with all the trimmings.

The fabulous wine list spotlights a range of classic and new-world varietals, and there’s a tempting selection of single malt whiskies to sip in the bar. For private dining experiences, this quintessentially Scottish country house hotel also offers an elegant room suitable for up to 18 guests.

Activities

The castle-like Kinloch House offers easy access to a number of famous Scottish castles to discover the rich history of the country, alongside some of the best whisky and gin distilleries in the region; should you wish to join a tasting experience outside the hotel’s impressive walls.

For those looking to spend their time in nature, nearby golf courses with walking and cycling paths offer an active afternoon, while fishing and shooting opportunities further elevate a stay at this characteristic mansion.
