About Monachyle Mhor

Monachyle Mhor is a boutique hotel and working farm in Scotland with 17 distinctly designed bedrooms. Plus a giddy-making selection of six eclectic, self-contained outbuildings dotted around the estate including a wagon, a tiny house and a ferry cabin. There are plenty of ways to get out and immerse yourself in this wild and wonderful setting, from wilderness encounters and a seasonal wine safari to apitherapy and an invigorating lochside sauna experience.

Accommodation

If you’re planning a stay in the main buildings, you can take your pick of three distinct room categories, Courtyard, Farmhouse or Feature (the most decadent of the three). All have standout touches to uncover, whether it’s a little log stove or a full-sized steam room, iconic statement furniture by Eames or twin slipper baths. The Courtyard rooms are also dog-friendly, so bring your four-legged friends along.

Then there are the outbuildings – each with its own vibe and character. There’s a Ferry Cabin, decked out in a fresh ply lining, a former showman’s wagon, an ultramodern treehouse stack and a black timber eco-cabin – to name just a handful.

Dining

There are daily changing menus covering lunch and dinner at Monachyle Mhor restaurant, each a showcase of wild and fabulous produce with provenance. Expect food to be in-season, fresh and prepared with inventive finesse by the talented team behind the scenes in the kitchen.

Overnight guests can look forward to a hearty start to their day, ranging from rhubarb compôte from the garden to a full traditional Scottish breakfast – and there’s even a bar bites menu to tide you over if you get peckish between lunch and dinner.

Experiences

Monachyle Mhor may be tucked away from it all, but there’s plenty to keep you busy during your stay at this luxury boutique hotel. You’re right on the doorstep of a working farm which offers hands-on experiences with cute farm animals to charm little ones (and big kids) – perfect for visiting families.

There are also seasonal drinks experiences – a daily masterclass curated by owner Tom who will take you on a sensory journey from a reassuringly relaxed bar setting. If you can’t wait to explore the dazzling Scottish landscape, there’s always the wildly popular wine safari, in which you can enjoy an al fresco food demonstration and wine tasting while surrounded by the stunning scenery around Monachyle Mhor Hotel

If you’re on the hunt for something with a twist, you’re in luck. There’s an exhilarating lochside sauna experience in which you can combine wild swimming with cosy basking, or apitherapy – a sustainable therapy centred around the use of bees.

As for events, the huge and versatile Dutch barn on site has plenty of room for a party, a corporate event or an intimate loch-side wedding with rustic wow-factor. Plus, the lovely team will do all they can to make sure your party goes to plan.
