It's the most glamorous time of the year at Crossbasket Castle
This Christmas, be whisked away to a world of pure escapism and glamour at Crossbasket Castle for a legendary three-day celebration.

Their Christmas package has it all. Opulent surroundings. Glittering parties. Roaring fires and bubbling champagne. The fun kicks off on Christmas Eve with tea and warm scones on arrival, with plenty of time to get checked in and gussied up for a glam three-course dinner and live entertainment in Trocadero’s.

Christmas morning gets underway with a full Scottish breakfast and ample time to lounge around the historic castle building, exchange gifts or explore the grounds. Then, the champagne and canapés start to flow at 1.30pm - the prelude to an indulgent four-course Christmas lunch in the ballroom. In the evening, there’ll be music and celebration for party animals, and quiet spots for reflection by the fire in the bar and the library.

On Boxing Day, the feasting and festivities continue, with breakfast and a Bloody Mary station (perfect if you’ve overindulged). Then, enjoy all-you-can-eat brunch and live entertainment in the ballroom, before a farewell dinner in Trocadero’s, with check-out the next morning.

Sound like your coupe of champagne? Visit Crossbasket Castle Hotel and Spa restaurant to check out rates, packages and secure your place. And if you’re still wondering what you’re doing for New Year’s Eve, they’ve got a rather wonderful three-day Hogmanay package, too.

Memories made at Murrayshall Country Estate
What could feel more festive than a 365-acre estate, hidden away in a pocket of beautiful Perthshire countryside? Rolling hills, ancient trees, and a historic 17th century building all aglow with decorations set the scene rather splendidly at Murrayshall Country Estate.

When you arrive on Christmas Eve, you’ll enjoy a warm welcome in the atmospheric library, where you can get into the swing of things with a selection of festive treats and mulled wine. Next, retire to the bar for something stronger, enjoy a creative ceramics session hosted by a local artist or herd the little ones into gingerbread decorating before dinner in Cairns Restaurant at 6pm.

Christmas Day gets off to a very merry start with a glass of Buck’s Fizz at breakfast in Eòlas before a bit of present swapping, a brisk stroll around the estate or some light reading by the log fire. The main event begins with canapés and a glass of bubbly before five glorious courses ensue. Then, in the evening, a light buffet will be served, along with coffee and mince pies to round off the day.

On Boxing Day, breakfast is brought in leisurely fashion, and there’s the opportunity for golf fans to test their mettle against a Beat the Pro simulator, before bidding a fond farewell. Or, extend your stay one more night on Boxing Day for just £100 per person.

You can browse festive packages and book your break at the Murrayshall Country Estate website.

Enjoy a coastal Christmas at Greywalls
A windswept coastline, a championship golf course, and a charming Arts and Crafts style Edwardian building with a romantic walled garden. The scene is truly set for indulgence at Greywalls this Christmas.

Their three-day festive retreat begins on Christmas Eve with a lavish cream tea by the crackling fire in the cosy library or the drawing room. Then, get dressed to the nines for a sparkling reception with live piano music and a candlelit four-course dinner. If you want to venture out for midnight mass after, there’ll be mulled wine and mince pies waiting for your return.

A magical Christmas Day starts with a stocking outside your door and breakfast at your own pace. Then, spend your morning at leisure until a chilled glass of champagne at 12.30 heralds the beginning of a spectacular Christmas lunch. Then, spend some quality time with your loved ones, explore the estate or snooze by the fire. In the evening, a cold buffet awaits those who’ve worked up an appetite.

Boxing Day brunch leads to a gin tasting session and afternoon tea. In the evening, another champagne reception paves the way to a three-course meal at Chez Roux.
