News, awards and what's on

Spring might still be a few weeks away, but in Scottish hospitality, there are plenty of blossoming developments.

This month, both Edinburgh and Perth have been given serious acclaim as destinations, while Luxury Scotland members The Machrie have wowed with their golf course.

There’s also an awards nod for Little’s that’s no small feat – so let’s get on with the round-up!

Little’s get the show on the road

Huge congratulations to Little’s Chauffeur Drive. They’ve been shortlisted in the ‘Favourite Tour Transport Company’ category at the TPI Magazine Awards.

A celebration of the global touring industry, the awards recognise those who work behind the scenes to keep live events moving.

We wish Little’s all the best of luck for the awards ceremony. To find out more about their award-winning service and driver itineraries, you can contact the team at enquiries@littles.co.uk.

Edinburgh’s the place to be in 2024

Edinburgh has been included in The Times list of the ’40 most exciting cities to visit in 2024’ alongside world city heavyweights Berlin, LA and Paris.

The prestigious, globe-spanning rundown cites the much-anticipated launch of Europe’s largest inland surf centre, Lost Shore, in autumn and the new Michelin-star eatery, Heron, as some of the imminent highlights to be sampled in Auld Reekie.

If you’re planning a spring break to the capital, you’ll find plenty of impressive accommodation among Luxury Scotland partner properties. Base yourself in the super-central Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa for a relaxing city-based retreat. Or, for something entirely unique, on the luxurious floating hotel Fingal.

It’s official: The Machrie is considerably above par

We’re delighted to share the news that Luxury Scotland member property The Machrie Hotel & Golf Links was featured in The Scotsman as one of ‘Six golf courses to play in 2024’.

The round-up, compiled by seasoned golf journalist Martin Dempster, also name-checks the Angus-based Panmure and Anstruther on his Scottish golfing bucket list.

Take a bow, Perthshire

Perthshire has been voted ‘The most welcoming region on Earth’, in the 2024 Annual Traveller Review Award.

Compiled from over 309 million verified customer reviews by Booking.com, the accolade is no small feat, and evaluates a vast range of destinations from all over the world.

If you are planning a trip to this lovely locale, you’ll find plenty of beautiful and diverse accommodation on offer. Embrace the exquisite rolling countryside around the Murrayshall Country Estate in Perth, or venture further still with a stay at Fonab Castle Hotel and Spa in Pitlochry.

Either way, you can be sure of a warm welcome!
