News, awards and what's on

Looking back over 2023, we’ve seen endless recognition, accolades and new developments for our many deserving members through the months – and December is no exception.

So just before we put on our gladrags and toast another wonderful year in Scottish hospitality, let’s charge our glasses and congratulate a few more worthy award winners to close the year on a high…

Prize pampering at the Sheraton

One Spa at The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh has recently been announced as ‘Best Spa in Scotland’ by the Good Spa Guide.

The awards are determined by an assessment by the guide’s team of spa experts, and judged on factors like tidiness, customer service, facilities and treatments with their Bubble rating system.

If you’re looking for a relaxing day in the capital, we can attest, it doesn’t get much better!

Nothing to be cross about

Crossbasket Castle near East Kilbride has won a Condé Nast Johansens Award for Excellence in the category of ‘Best for Weddings, Parties and Celebrations.’

They described Crossbasket Castle as a ‘reinvented, regenerated and resplendent castle hotel just outside Glasgow, masterfully restored to its former glory’.

You can view the full list of award winners at the Condé Nast Johansens website.

Thistles bloom for Cromlix

Warmest congratulations to Cromlix, who were awarded ‘Best Hotel Experience’ recently in the National Finals of the VisitScotland Thistle Awards 2023. Well deserved!

A spirited performance from Johnnie Walker Princes Street

Johnnie Walker Princes Street has recently been crowned the World’s Leading Spirit Experience by the prestigious World Travel Awards.

This is the fifth international award won by the experience in 2023. We’ll drink to that!

Going for gold

Keep Scotland Beautiful have awarded Fingal a Gold Award for Environmental Excellence.

After a detailed audit, the ship was recognised for its efforts in sustainability, with cross-departmental green teams, and partnerships between the Royal Yacht Britannia Trust and other local charities and businesses to reduce waste and promote sustainability.

Congratulations to the hardworking team at Fingal, who’ve shown their commitment to making positive changes. Well done, everyone!

Small but mighty

Congratulations to both Fingal and The Roseate in Edinburgh for making it onto the Daily Telegraph’s list of Best Boutique Hotels in Edinburgh.

The Roseate snagged an impressive 8/10, and was commended for its ‘intimate, clublike feel’, ‘bright, fresh bathrooms’, and value for money.

Fingal was awarded 9/10, and was described as ‘an offbeat, remarkably peaceful alternative for those looking for something out of the ordinary’.

We couldn’t agree more!
