A new chapter for Douneside House  

Plans are underway at Douneside House to reimagine its Health Club, with proposals including indulgent treatment rooms, an infrared sauna, a serene relaxation lounge and enhanced studio space. Surrounded by the beauty of Royal Deeside, it promises to be a sanctuary of wellbeing. We’ll keep you updated as the vision takes shape.  

Double-star success for Dunnet Bay Distillers 

Congratulations to Dunnet Bay Distillers for their Rock Rose Citrus Coastal Gin, awarded two stars at the 2025 Taste Awards. This honour is given to fewer than 10% of entries, recognising an outstanding spirit inspired by the Caithness shoreline and crafted with local kelp and liquorice salt. Slàinte!


A lifetime of achievement at Little’s 

George Wills, who founded Little’s Chauffeur Drive in 1966, has been named a finalist for the National Family Business Lifetime Achievement Award. From a three-car taxi firm to one of Scotland’s most respected chauffeur services, his vision and dedication continue to shape the company today. 

Stargazing with Murrayshall 

On Friday 12th September, Murrayshall invites guests to an evening beneath Scotland’s starry skies. The experience begins with telescope access on the 18th green, guided by renowned astrophotographer Andrew Allan, before a night-time hike to the estate’s highest point, the Lynedoch Obelisk. Culinary acclaim at The Torridon 

Congratulations to Chef Danny, who has been named a finalist in the prestigious National Chef of the Year competition – another accolade for The Torridon’s exceptional culinary team.

Spotlight on the Thistle Awards
 

Two Luxury Scotland members have been shortlisted in the 2025 Scottish Thistle Awards: The Torridon for Best Hotel Experience & Employer of the Year (Highlands & Islands region) and Murrayshall Country Estate for Best Hotel Experience (Central & East region).  

A hearty congratulations to both on this fantastic achievement!
