Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2020

Firstly this month, Luxury Scotland is proud to announce that four of its members have been recognised as winners in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2020. Awarded in the United Kingdom category, this includes The Gleneagles Hotel, holding first place in the category; Inverlochy Castle Hotel at number 13, Glencoe House at 14, and The Torridon in position 23, from a total of just 30 properties featured from across the wider UK in the category.

The prestigious Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running recognition of excellence in the travel industry. More than 715,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers submitted an incredible number of responses rating their travel experiences across the globe. Well done to all properties listed! Find out more here. 


Congratulations to Jane Watson, Inverlochy Castle

Jane Watson, Hotel Manager, is celebrating 40 years of service at Inverlochy Castle. Many congratulations on achieving this milestone and for creating so many wonderful memories for the Inverlochy Castle guests.

AA Rosette Awards

Also at Inverlochy Castle, we are delighted to announce that Albert and Michel Roux Jr of the Roux Restaurant have been awarded 3 AA Rosettes. Three AA rosettes are awarded to restaurants achieving standards that demand national recognition beyond their local area. Read more.

Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

Tickets for the 2021 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo have just gone on sale. The dates are 6-28th August 2021. The team at the Tattoo are planning for a safe and unforgettable event that combines military precision, live music, breath-taking lighting and special effects and fantastic entertainment. The 2021 seating plan has been considered to allow social distancing measures, with a reduced overall capacity and tickets available in sections of up to four seats together. Those who transferred their tickets from 2020 were first to select their seats prior to public sale.

Michael Braithwaite, the newly appointed Creative Director stated that: ‘We were originally born out of the Second World War with the aims of raising morale after dark times, entertaining and bringing people together and will continue to uphold these original values, committing to next year’s event and giving fans of the Show near and far something to look forward to.
