Hotel Amenities at Luxury Scotland Hotels

What differentiates any luxury hotel from a special luxury hotel? The difference is in the attention to detail. From bedrooms, bathrooms and public rooms to the service – every little detail adds to the guest experience and makes a simple overnight stay into a truly memorable Luxury Break.

At Luxury Scotland our hotels go the extra mile to make sure their in-room amenities and toiletries reflect their concept of luxury. Many of the hotels showcase Scottish luxury products developed locally that are either quintessentially Scottish or represent the bests in Scottish produce and innovation.

From toiletries to the type of towel, robes and slippers. All the items you see in the bedrooms and toilets is there for a reason,  chosen so you can enjoy your stay as much as possible. If you are unable to find specific items you might like to have, all it takes is one call to reception or the concierge and they will do their best to source them.

Since you are not able to see these lovely items until you actually visit the Luxury Scotland hotels, we have picked a few samples to show you, to tempt you to visit the hotels and use them yourself!

The Torridon Hotel, Wester Ross

Attention to detail at The Torridon Hotel is paramount. In the rooms, the hotel has Temple Spa products which smell sublime and are completely focused on the guest’s wellbeing. The Temple Spa company aims to  improve people’s self esteem and well being by helping them feel balanced through the use of aromatherapy and essential oils. The result is a personal spa experience in little bottles that can be taken anywhere. The products feel wonderfully luxurious on the skin.

Cromlix, Perthshire

In partnership with Arran Arromatics, a wonderfully successful family company based in Scotland with an international reputation for quality and innovative products, Cromlix has developed their own blend which is also available to be purchased at the hotel or online. The amenities at Cromlix are exceptionally luxurious. They are all branded and have the most gorgeous perfume. Arran Aromatics was founded by Janet Russell and her husband Iain in the kitchen of their cottage on the beautiful Isle of Arran. Today they are one of Scotland’s best-loved brands.

Inverlochy Castle Hotel, Highlands

Inverlochy Castle is an elegant dame, a lover of the finer things in life. A traditional Scottish Castle offering all the modern amenities one would expect from one of the best luxury hotels in the world. Also a member of Relais & Chateaux, Inverlochy Castle has also chosen the lovely Arran Arromatics for their amenities. The bottles aren’t small either, they are big and generous! The hotel used to have Penhaligon’s products available but recently have adopted Arran Arromatics to keep consistent with other ICMI Hotels.

Gleneagles Hotel, Perthshire

Gleneagles has chosen the exceptional quality of Asprey for their bathroom amenities. Founded in 1781 the Asprey company is one of the finest examples of British luxury. Asprey has a long and established relationship with British royalty dating back to the 1800s when Queen Victoria awarded the company it’s first Royal Warrant. Since then, Asprey has held a Royal Warrant for every British monarch and several other foreign heads of state. Asprey products are simply gorgeous, stylish and epitomise real luxury.

Knockinaam Lodge Hotel, Portpatrick

Knockinaam Lodge Hotel has chosen Purdie’s of Argyll for their bathroom amenities. The Purdie’s products are organic, fresh with extracts of local wild plants and made in the West Coast of Scotland. The Purdie company is a wonderful  example of a luxury Scottish brand and a family business that has achieved great success while focusing on their local community. Wonderful products and a beautiful concept to showcase and enjoy at Knockinaam Lodge.

The Old Course Hotel Golf & Spa, St Andrews

The Old Course Hotel has chosen to work with Noble Isle. The company was created in 2011 with an ambition to create a quintessentially British brand. During the creation of Noble Isle, the four founders travelled the length and breadth of the British Isles to source authentic ingredients that celebrate the natural riches of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. All Noble Isle body products contain moisture-shielding shea butter, British-sourced natural extracts and exquisite blends of fine fragrance.

Plans unveiled for new luxury floating hotel in Edinburgh

Plans for Scotland’s first luxury static floating hotel were lodged today with the City of Edinburgh Council. The former Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) tender, MV Fingal, will be converted into a 23 bedroom hotel, berthed permanently at the Prince of Wales Dock in Edinburgh’s historic port of Leith.
The £3.5m investment by the Royal Yacht Britannia’s trading company, Royal Yacht Enterprises, will see this classically designed ship transformed to provide the ultimate in luxury, offering a wide range of bedroom suites, cabins with private balconies, duplex apartments, and a stunning Presidential Suite.
The ‘boatique’ hotel is expected to open in Easter 2018 and create at least 30 permanent new jobs in the hospitality industry, added to the 170 already employed directly at Britannia.
The hotel concept has been created by the Pedley Group and all the bedrooms will be named after Stevenson lighthouses nominated by the NLB. The interior design has been inspired by Fingal’s rich maritime history, blending the avant-garde expectations of discerning guests with the functional necessities of luxury retreats.
Developing Fingal represents natural organic growth for the award-winning team at Britannia and, as well as business synergies and operational efficiencies, the hotel will generate an income stream that is not reliant on visitors to the Royal Yacht but will nevertheless help secure its long term future.
The Royal Yacht Britannia, berthed at Ocean Terminal in Leith, attracted a record 350,000 visitors last year and is renowned for providing the very highest standards of customer experience: having been officially assessed as Scotland’s Best Attraction for the last 11 years running by national tourism agency, VisitScotland.
Britannia’s Chief Executive Bob Downie said, ‘Having excelled in the visitor attraction market for nearly 20 years, we are very much looking forward to the challenges of operating in the luxury hotel market and the benefits it will generate for Britannia over the years to come’.
One of the UK hospitality industry’s most eminent and respected figures, Peter Lederer, past UK Hotelier of the Year, and former Chairman of the Gleneagles Hotel said, “This new ‘boatique’ hotel has the potential to be the best hotel experience in Edinburgh and given the quality of the Britannia experience, I am really looking forward to seeing a new benchmark in Scotland.”
