A £250,000 Valentine experience on board the Royal Yacht BRITANNIA

The Royal Yacht Britannia is one of the most exclusive evening events venues in the UK and we’re offering the ultimate Valentine experience for one lucky couple. We’ve teamed up with Scotland’s luxury jewellery house and Royal Warrant Holder, Hamilton & Inches, to offer the most luxurious Valentine experience that money can buy.

Priced at £250,000, the evening begins with a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce, courtesy of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Edinburgh, from The Balmoral Hotel for a private quayside arrival at Britannia.

The couple will be piped aboard via the Royal Brow, an entrance previously reserved for The Royal Family. The finest vintage Krug Champagne and delicious canapés, all made on board in the original Royal Galleys, will be served in the State Drawing Room.

There, you will meet a Master Craftsman from Hamilton & Inches for a private viewing of their Signature Suite collection, a hand-crafted three piece suite of jewellery consisting of diamond collar necklace, diamond earrings and diamond cuff bracelet, featuring over 660 diamonds. Created in celebration of Hamilton & Inches 150th anniversary, this is the only suite to exist in the world and will be yours to wear and enjoy throughout the evening, and to own for a lifetime!

Britannia’s Executive Chef Mark Alston will create an exquisite ten-course tasting menu, served by the Royal Yacht’s butlers, with paired wines personally selected from the Moët & Hennessy collection by Britannia’s Head Sommelier.

This sumptuous dinner will be served in the State Dining Room, where Her Majesty The Queen once entertained kings and queens, presidents and celebrities, whilst a classical string duo play a selection of romantic songs, throughout the evening. After dinner, enjoy a glass or two of rare Hennessy Paradis Imperial Cognac, from your very own custom engraved bottle. The evening concludes with a spectacular private fireworks display before returning to The Balmoral Hotel, where a night in the Castle View suite awaits.

Britannia’s Ultimate Luxury Valentine’s Experience also includes private jet transfers with Jet Logic from any airport in the UK.

Cameron House on Loch Lomond will have a Loch-Side Terrace

A brand new outdoor terrace is being created to showcase the unique panoramic views from the hotel and will offer guests a greater connection with the natural beauty of the area. Phase two of the refurbishment is due to be completed in May 2017, it includes a redesign of the hotel’s bedrooms.

The new terrace will act as both an alfresco bar area and an outdoor events space. Frameless glass balustrading to the terrace will ensure views are maximised, with a covered timber deck creating a warmth to the space both from within and when viewed from the surrounding areas. The existing glazing will also be replaced, with doors opening out on the terrace and larger expanses of glass introduced, giving a minimal, contemporary feel.

Phase two of the refurbishment will see Cameron House invest a further £1 million into the resort. Cameron House invested £3 million earlier this year as part of phase one of their ongoing refurbishment, which focussed on revamping the food and beverage offering, including The Cameron Grill and new cocktail bar, along with the hotel’s other public spaces.

Andy Roger, Resort Director said: “We are continuing to invest in Cameron House and are committed to making it the ultimate luxury destination in Scotland. We are truly privileged to have a unique setting that boasts such an abundance of natural beauty. The terrace will bring an exciting new dimension to our offering, with guests able to relax outdoors and take in the stunning panorama.”

The new terrace will accommodate 60 seated or 120 standing and access will be through the Great Scots Bar or via a staircase at the front of the hotel.

Luxury Scotland Newsletter – January 2017

The beginning of 2017 is an exciting time for us all at Luxury Scotland.

Many of our members are undertaking refurbishment programmes, Glencoe House is about to open six new suites in the Bell Tower and Cromlix are working on significant expansion plans.

Belmond Royal Scotsman have just added an on-board spa to the train and and Lochgreen House Hotel are adding spa treatment rooms with an anticipated opening in Spring 2017. Boath House is creating a new garden café and the Old Course in St Andrews will be looking very smart when it reopens after a three-month refurbishment.

Last but not least, Trump Turnberry has of course reopened after a magnificent refurbishment and their new spa will debut on 6th February. So, all in all, quite a lot of activity has been taking place over the winter months.

We are delighted to announce that we have formed a partnership with Dunnet Bay Distillers who produce Rock Rose Gin and Holy Grass Vodka. They are a small distillery in Dunnet, Caithness and in celebration of Burns Night, have created a limited edition gin “The Lassies Toast”. The gin is inspired by the Moorland tea that Robert Burns is reputed to have enjoyed and is made to a unique recipe designed in-house. It features bilberry leaves, strawberry leaves, heather tops, speedwell and wild thyme, ingredients found in the Moorland tea recipe. Full details can be found on their web site.

A host of new offers and promotions are being listed on our News & Offers section including complimentary nights, luxury cruises, exclusive chef events and an innovative golf initiative in Ayrshire.

Whatever you do in January, especially on Burn’s Night, please enjoy!

Clyde Island Explorer – Wednesday 1st to Monday 6th March 2017.

Experience the excitement and thrill of the first cruise of the season as Hebridean Princess takes us to some of the finest houses on the Clyde as well as Britain’s smallest cathedral and a mountainside botanic garden. Sailing from Greenock we head to the Isle of Bute where Mount Stuart stands testament to generations of Stuart passion and flamboyance.

The delightful island of Great Cumbrae is home to Britain’s smallest cathedral, The Cathedral of the Isles, with its vivid tiles and stained glass. The tiny Holy Isle allows us to take a stroll ashore, ahead of a tour of the Isle of Arran. Affectionately known as ‘Scotland in miniature’, this vibrant island is considered to possess the great qualities of Scotland.

Our final afternoon is spent cruising the Upper Clyde and learning of how this mighty river was once so significant for industry and trade.
