News, awards and what's on
Luxury Scotland members have plenty to celebrate this month.
Several of our partners have been shortlisted for the prestigious Scottish Thistle Awards, the Torridon has retained its coveted AA Five Red Star status, and Little’s Chauffeur Drive has expanded its luxury fleet, enhancing guest journeys to Crossbasket Castle and beyond.
Without further ado, here are the highlights...
Glenapp Castle completes their wellness suite
A new suite has opened at Glenapp Castle, offering guests a truly indulgent way to stay.
The Nest is a secluded sanctuary with a distinctly Scottish design sensibility. Tucked away in the castle’s idyllic 1930s walled garden, the one-bedroom cottage has a separate bedroom and sitting room, a super king-size bed and a sofa bed for little ones.
But the real coup is its private outdoor wellness space, where you’ll find a sauna and cold plunge for true hot and cold therapy. Inside, there are also Pilates mats and walking weights, and a restorative menu of massages. Once you’re there, we can’t think why you’d ever fly The Nest!
Leigh is flying high
We're thrilled to announce that Leigh Mellis, Chief Executive of JetLogic, has been named as a finalist in the Businesswoman of the Year category at the prestigious SME Business Awards 2026. Congratulations, Leigh - the sky really is the limit!
Luxury Scotland members make the shortlist at the VisitScotland Thistle Awards
The Thistle Awards are the Oscars of the Scottish Tourism industry, shining a spotlight on the people, businesses and organisations who tirelessly champion the best of Scotland’s hospitality. This year’s shortlist has been announced, and we’re overjoyed to see that some of Luxury Scotland’s Members have a chance to win big on the night.
In the Highlands & Islands Thistle Awards, Glenmorangie House has been shortlisted for ‘Best Eating Experience’, while their sister property, Ardbeg House on Islay, has made the cut in the competitive ‘Best Hotel’ category. Not to be outdone, in the South of Scotland region, Knockinaam Lodge has also been shortlisted in the ‘Best Hotel’ category.
Best of luck to all our Luxury Scotland Members for the national finals. We can’t wait to see you shine on the big night!
Five red stars for The Torridon - again!
July got off to a great start for The Torridon, who have had their five red star rating confirmed again by AA Hotel and Hospitality Services. Only the very best UK hotels are given this accolade, and it’s a testament to the drive and passion of the team at The Torridon, who consistently go out of their way to make visitors feel very special indeed.
Little’s luxury goes a long way
At Crossbasket Castle, guests can already arrive and depart in style thanks to our partners, Little’s Chauffeur Drive.
Now, though, the company - which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year - is expanding its fleet with the addition of bespoke Mercedes-Benz Grand Tourer Sprinters.
These sleek 16-seater vehicles increase their capacity to transport guests while delivering a luxurious, comfortable onboard experience every time.
