News, awards and what's on

As Scotland blooms in the high summer sunshine, its hospitality scene is also flourishing.

This month’s news roundup celebrates The Torridon’s impressive EarthCheck recognition, a fine dining award nomination for Knockinaam Lodge, and Kinloch Lodge’s inspiring new photography retreat. These stories show the care, commitment and creativity that continue to define Luxury Scotland properties.

Eco excellence for The Torridon

Congratulations to The Torridon for earning Bronze status with EarthCheck, the global benchmark for sustainable tourism. The award recognises the hotel’s continued efforts to reduce its environmental impact, including an on-site biomass plant, a thriving kitchen garden, and close partnerships with local producers.

A recent £1 million investment in eco-conscious staff accommodation further reflects the hotel’s thoughtful approach to people and place.

Dan Rose-Bristow, co-owner of The Torridon, commented: “Sustainability has always been integral to our philosophy. Rohaise and I have raised our family at The Torridon while developing Scotland’s most northerly five star hotel, and we’re proud to protect this unique part of the Highlands for future generations.”

A serving of success for Knockinaam Lodge

Our warmest congratulations to Knockinaam Lodge, who have been shortlisted in the ‘Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year’ category in The Food Awards Scotland.

These awards recognise the best of Scotland’s exceptional food and drink scene, with this year’s ceremony set to take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central on Monday 25th August.  We wish the entire team lots of luck for the final.
