Breaking news: Dun Aluinn relaunches as boutique hotel 

Just a few months ago, we announced that Dun Aluinn – the five-star, exclusive use house perched above Aberfeldy – had become the latest Luxury Scotland member. Well it’s time for another announcement... 

Dun Aluinn is now available as a boutique hotel!

While exclusive bookings will remain a core part of Dun Aluinn’s identity and appeal, this new offering answers an ever-increasing demand for intimate, high-end, design-led hotel stays. High above Aberfeldy with views across the Tay Valley and Schiehallion, we predict no shortage of interest in snapping up the hotel’s beautiful, individually designed rooms.  

The new hotel experience 

The core concept is that guests can still experience the property’s signature ‘private house’ feeling – while also enjoying the hospitality, housekeeping, and service standards of a world-class hotel.  

At the moment of booking, guests will be connect to a dedicated Guest Experience Manager. Their role is quite simply to curate the perfect stay. Want a personalised itinerary of outdoor adventures, or to experience the best of local Highland culture? Simply say the word.  

On the ground, they can also light up the wood-fired cedar hot tub in the woods, line up a film in the cinema room, or simple have a bottle of bubbles chilling in your room. 

Named for species of tree, each of the nine bedrooms has its own unique identity. Scots Pine harbours a Japanese, deep-soaking Furo bath. Hazel’s modern four-poster bed and en-suite steam room are spectacular indulgences.  

As well as beautifully cooked breakfasts, hotel guests are invited to gather each evening for an optional three-course dinner, designed and presented by head chef John Christie. With over 15 years manning the pass in Michelin-starred kitchens across Scotland, London and Australasia, his evening banquets are something to behold.
