SEE ISLAY’S CELEBRATED SEABIRDS WITH THIS WILDLIFE ADVENTURE

The Machrie is as close as Islay gets to Hebridean seventh heaven.

The highly anticipated launch of Sir David Attenborough’s new UK documentary series, Wild Isles, has featured Islay and its wildlife in some spectacular footage.

Follow in the footsteps of Sir David and his team and experience Islay and all its incredible wildlife with our 3-night* Wildlife On Islay package, available between 1st April and 30th September.

The Machrie is a sponsor of RSPB Scotland, and donates to projects at the local nature reserve on Islay. Inspired by this partnership, we have created a thrilling wildlife experience where you can learn about, and see, a range of Hebridean birds and wildlife, including Greenland barnacle and white-fronted geese, choughs, corncrakes, hen harriers and, hopefully, some of Islay’s white-tailed eagles!

There is so much wildlife to discover across this Hebridean isle. A series of coastal paths circle the island, connecting the beaches and often leading to picturesque, secluded coves and hidden lagoons, setting an epic scene for wildlife explorers. With over 130 miles of coastline and two RSPB reserves, Islay boasts dramatic cliff faces, turquoise bays, numerous immaculate beaches and a vast array of nature. It has to be seen to be believed.
