2017 Luxury Scotland Review

What an exciting year that was!

I have been looking back at all the exciting events and developments we enjoyed during Luxury Scotland’s 25th Anniversary year.

We were very privileged to announce the addition of three more of Scotland’s finest luxury properties to our portfolio:
Kinross House
Estate in Kinross-shire, Lews Castle on the Isle of Lewis and The Isle of Eriska Hotel & Spa.

We also welcomed a new commercial partner – the famous Dunnet Bay Distillery whose Rock Rose Gin and Holy Grass Vodka have received rave reviews from drinks experts and the cocktail generation.

Our existing members continued to enhance their guest experience with several new features. Glencoe House opened six new luxury suites and Belmond Royal Scotsman added a luxury spa to their on-board facilities. The Old Course Hotel enjoyed a wonderful reopening after a 3-month refurbishment and Gleneagles opened The American Bar and The Birnam Brasserie.

During the year our visitors enjoyed a number of sumptuous gourmet dining events featuring top chefs including Emily Roux at Greywalls, Marcello Tully at Kinloch Lodge and Michel Roux who graced Crossbasket Castle and then joined Andrew Fairlie at an event at Gleneagles.

At Lochgreen House in Ayrshire the Costley Kitchen Club was launched and new menus continued to wow diners at Restaurant Martin Wishart in Cameron House on Loch Lomond.

Following the success of our Ultimate Road Trip on the North Coast 500 itinerary, we added several more wonderful driving itineraries around Scotland for those visitors who, like me, have a passion for discovering the joys of driving in Scotland.

If sailing rocks your boat, look at our Sailing in Scotland page which highlights exciting opportunities for luxury charters just outside Edinburgh on the Firth of Forth and on Scotland’s west coast at Crinan.

To mark our 25th Anniversary, a special Connoisseurs Scotland Edition of the famous Monopoly game was produced and is now available for guests to enjoy in our Luxury Scotland hotels. Already considered a collectors’ item, we advise all Monopoly addicts to ‘like’ our Luxury Scotland Facebook page as several of these unique sets will be given away as prizes during December.

In conjunction with the Wigtown Book Festival we established a literary link with each of our luxury hotels and a specific book to which they have links. Our little library, Luxury Scotland’s Literary Links, comprising all these books has been won by Preston Street School in Edinburgh.

2018 promises to be another exciting year for Luxury Scotland. We already have some exciting announcements on our Special Offers page and on our Facebook page so please keep a look out for email newsletters.

Wishing you a very enjoyable 2018.
