Each of The Scotsman Hotel’s luxurious and high tech rooms has been individually designed in a style combining traditional elegance with contemporary simplicity, which complements the many original features of this historic property. Retained features include a stunning entrance with walnut panelling, stained glass window and marble staircase.

The Penthouse is a stunning suite with its own private lift,
dining room, library, sauna, and roof top terrace.

All rooms use bold colours, plush fabrics and modern furniture. They are fully equipped with state-of-the-art interactive TV, luxurious toiletries and sensible facilities such as ironing board and iron, wonderful Privacy Hatches so that room service staff needn’t intrude, and even an Edinburgh Monopoly board game!

In tribute to its illustrious past, many of The Scotsman’s 69 guest rooms and suites are named after the hierarchy which once reigned – visitors can choose from Editors Rooms, Publishers Suites or Directors Suites, as well as the more conventionally titled Study Rooms and Deluxe Rooms.
