Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles named Best Restaurant in Scotland in the 2017 Good Food Guide (GFG)

It’s with great excitement that we share this news: Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles is number one among the five Scottish restaurants that have been included in the Top 50 listing in the 2017 Good Food Guide (GFG) and Airds Hotel in Argyll is also among the finest restaurants in the list.

GFG is owned by Waitrose and describes itself as a guide to the very best restaurants and across Britain. Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles is ranked at number nine in the overall UK list and has been praised for applying a modern sensibility to dishes while reflecting the refined traditions of French haute cuisine.

GFG editor Elizabeth Carter said: “Unimpeachable ingredients are at the heart of Fairlie’s culinary endeavours, from the Gartmorn Farm duck served with ceps to the seasonal pickings from his flourishing two-acre garden. “At the stoves, he’s a master technician, eloquently schooled in the refined traditions of French haute cuisine, but applying a modern sensibility to dishes that always feel newly minted.”

Among the Scottish Hotels in the list there is Airds Hotel in Argyll and Bute and Martin Wishart Restaurant, all members of Luxury Scotland Hotels.

Congratulations to all
