The Marcliffe Hotel & Spa

Leisure

Here in Scotland's north east corner, there is no shortage of activities for our guests. Whether you enjoy the relaxing discovery of castles and scenic grandeur or the more energetic pace of golf, fishing or other country pursuits - they can all be arranged through The Marcliffe Hotel & Spa.

The Marcliffe Hotel & Spa can provide access to a wide range of salmon and sea trout fishing packages in over 20 beats on the famous River Dee and River Don in Scotland. Top-class wild salmon fishing on the River Dee is also available.

Golf can be enjoyed on a wide variety of local traditional courses including Cruden Bay and the most outstanding of which is Royal Aberdeen Golf Club the sixth oldest registered club in the world having been established in 1780.

The Marcliffe at Pitfoldels hotel is located right in the heart of Scotland¹s Castle and Whisky country - home to more castles per acre than anywhere else in the UK - nearly 300 if you want to count!

The Castle Trail takes in eleven of the finest examples of Scotland's building heritage. And we are no distance from the world¹s only Malt Whisky Trail in Moray - a route taking in eight malt whisky distilleries and one cooperage.

Aberdeen is the gateway to Royal Deeside and since Balmoral Castle was built for Queen Victoria in 1855, the Royal Family have enjoyed the peace and tranquility of their summer retreat. When the family are not in residence, you can visit Balmoral and gain an insight to over a century of royal life on Deeside.

A relaxing day's drive will take our visitors to Balmoral Castle, Royal Lochnagar Distillery and Dunnottar Castle then back for an enjoyable dinner in our Conservatory restaurant.
