Louise of Granton - LA Marine

Cruises on 'Louise'

Champagne Barbeque

Louise will take guests to the remote and beautiful Caladh Bay for a glorious champagne barbecue lunch on board. Passing through the stunningly beautiful Kyles of Bute and the bird sanctuary of Bur Island you will arrive at this most remote and inaccessible of locations.

Once there we drop anchor and while the champagne barbecue is being freshly prepared on board, guests can work up an appetite by enjoying the thrill of our fun Jet rib in a safe environment or go exploring the small island which forms part of the boundaries of the bay. It's a very relaxing, spoiling kind of trip with photographic vistas all the way.

Doon the Water

The Victorians coined this phrase when Glasgow was the first city of the empire and in order to get away from the bustle and pressure of city life, they would sail "Doon the water" to their extravagant holiday homes. It is a route that vast sailing ships like Cutty Sark travelled carrying their global cargos back and forth on the world famous River Clyde.

Onboard Louise guests can relive this journey. Its It is an exploration of a world famous river that features many highlights such as the remains of a 20,000 ton sugar ship which foundered in a storm, its wreck still clearly visible today; Dumbarton Rock and Castle, once capital of ancient Scotland; a unique view of the underside of the Erskine Bridge and vistas of the historic Glasgow docklands, that in its past have built and launched famous ships like the historic  Queen Mary and today is seeing the construction and launch of the latest in stealth destroyers and aircraft carriers  for the Royal Navy.

All of this is topped up with the a traditional 'fish and chips' lunch in Rothsay on the Island of Bute before we return you and your guests by boat to the hustle and bustle of Glasgow city centre.

Heaven on Earth

This is a fabulous 'chill out' cruise that LA Marine is able to offers to its clients.  Only 20 minutes South West of our home port of Largs lies the fairy isle of Arran and the beautiful and peaceful Lamlash Bay.

LA Marine will take you and your guests to Lamlash Bay where the first thing to do is drop anchor and enjoy a sparkling champagne mid morning brunch on board 'Louise of Granton'.

After this, guests can be landed ashore at the mystical Holy Isle, a nature reserve island that is home to a Bhuddist retreat and a centre for World Peace.

This trip is an opportunity to explore the absolute peace and quiet of island life where the only intrusion is the sound of the sea and the wildlife.

Sleeping Beauty

A glorious trip to the remote island of Inchmarnock set in the waters of the inner Clyde on the West Coast of Scotland. On arrival at the island our guests will be taken ashore by Jet rib to visit and experience the remains of The 'Queen of Inch' who was laid to rest inside a bronze age cist, now glass topped to allow visitors to see the remains.

While all that is going on, your crew will prepare a fabulous champagne lunch on the beautiful beach of Inchmarnock or aboard our luxurious yacht 'Louise of Granton'.
