The Assynt Hills are reported to be the oldest in Britain and contain some of the great mountains of the north such as Suilven, Canisp, Quinag and Ben More Assynt, our nearest Munro. This is a walkers' paradise stretching from the coast to these high peaks.

From Lochinver you can walk along the coast to Achmelvich and on to the split rock at Clachtol. The Old Man of Stoer is also a firm favourite along the coast.

Stalking can be arranged on local estates to suit individual needs. The estates offer traditional stalking with ponies and others with the aid of an “argocat” (All Terrain Vehicle). From north Assynt to the Oykel River your stalking takes you in to the most dramatic and spectacular scenery surrounded by mountains.
