~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~Day 1Arrive at Edinburgh Airport and transfer to The Gleneagles Hotel, where you will stay for two nights. After check in, go The PGA National Golf Academy where you will have a lesson with a member of the PGA Qualified Professional Staff. Dinner in the two rosette award winning restaurant of the hotel, The Strathearn. Day 2After breakfast you will have a choice of the PGA Centenary Course – venue for the 40th Ryder Cup Matches in 2014 or the famous King’s Course. Lunch in The Dormy House and in the afternoon you can enjoy the natural beauty of the Queen's Course. Dinner this evening will be taken in the only restaurant in Scotland to have been awarded two Michelin stars - Andre Fairlie at Gleneagles. Day 3After breakfast, a short transfer to Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa, built alongside the fairway of the 17th ‘Road Hole’ of The Old Course. After check in, meet with the Golf Steward and enter the ballot to play The Old Course. Thereafter, play The Duke’s Course, set spectacularly above St Andrews, this championship course gives magnificent panoramic views over the surrounding countryside to the sea and is highly regarded as one of the finest heathland championship courses in the British Isles. Lunch will be taken in The Duke’s Bar and Grill and afterwards you will learn whether you have been successful in the Old Course ballot. Dinner this evening is taken in Sands, in the hotel Day 4After breakfast you will either play The Old Course if you have been successful, otherwise you will transfer to Kyle Phillips designed Kingbarns, ranked 61 in the top 100 golf course in the world by Golf Magazine. Dinner will be taken in The 3 AA Rosettes Road Hole Restaurant with which offers an exquisite gourmet experience using some of the finest local and seasonal produce. Day 5 & 6Arrive in Dublin and transfer to Barberstown Castle, Straffan, Co. Kildare where you will stay for two nights. You start your Irish experience by playing the famous K Club. Designed by Arnold Palmer, The Palmer Ryder Cup Course and The Palmer Smurfit Course are considered two of Europe's finest Championship Courses. Overnight at Barberstown Castle. Day 7You should head 3 hours south to Kinsale to play the majestic Old Head golf course– not for the faint hearted! When you have completed your round you should take the Cork tunnel for your next night at Ballymaloe House, located near Midleton, Co. Cork, and where you can re-charge the batteries. Overnight: Ballymaloe House Other overnight options in Cork: Longueville House, Hayfield Manor or Ahernes Restaurant & Townhouse. Day 8Today, you will drive for just over two hours to the Park Hotel Kenmare. For the lazy player, just step outside and play the local Kenmare golf course which is next door to the Park. For the more adventurous, drive a short distance and play the classic Killarney golf course. Dinner is taken in the hotel. Day 9Drive through the spectacular countryside of Killarney to your next port of call-The Mustard Seed at Echo Lodge where you will stay for two nights. As you arrive you will find a warm welcome from Dan and his team that will make you feel right at home. Dinner is taken in the hotel. Day 10This morning, you are ready to challenge one of the world’s top links courses, the infamous Old Course at Ballybunion Golf Club which exudes a majestic feel that simply cannot be compared to any other course on earth. Dinner is taken in the hotel. Day 11Your next and final stop is a hard choice as there are two very different but beautiful country houses - Gregans Castle or Moy House in County Clare. Both are close to two more courses on the ‘must play’ list. These are the newly opened Doonbeg golf courses, designed by Greg Norman and Lahinch, both rugged and unforgiving to those not playing their best. There are no guarantees, but should you take this tour there is a good chance that your game will have improved enough for you to drop at least 4 shots! Day 12Return home with some wonderful memories and great stories to tell of a wonderful golfing adventure in Ireland and Scotland.
