~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~Day 1Arrive at Aberdeen Airport and transfer with Little’s Chauffeur Drive to The Marcliffe Hotel and Spa where you will stay for two nights. As well as being in the whisky country you are also surrounded by more castles per square mile than anywhere else in Britain. Dinner will be taken in the hotel. Day 2A full day tour visiting ‘The Malt Whisky Trail’ where you can choose from 7 distilleries and a cooperage. Return to The Marcliffe for dinner and afterwards select the whisky of your choice from more than 100 malt whiskies in the hotel bar. Day 3Transfer to the Michelin starred Boath House or Rocpool Reserve and Chez Roux, where you will stay for two nights, en route, visiting the Cardhu Distillery and share the story of the only malt distillery pioneered by a woman. The malt whisky produced here has a warmth and cleanliness of taste which experts describe as "silky" and is used in some of the award winning Johnnie Walker blends. Thereafter, visit Tomatin Distillery, just south of Inverness, one of the highest distilleries in Scotland at 315 metres above sea level. Check into your hotel, where you will dine. Day 4Visit The Glen Ord Distillery, on the Black Isle, near Inverness. In the afternoon, visit Dunrobin Castle, the most northerly of Scotland's great houses and the largest in the Northern Highlands with 189 rooms, [open 1st April until 15th October]. Return to your hotel for dinner Day 5Transfer to Knockinaam Lodge. This is a six hour journey and so no distillery visit today, but when you arrive at the hotel which is the house featured in John Buchan’s book, The 39 Steps, you will find a delightful little whisky bar. Dinner in the Michelin starred restaurant in the hotel. Day 6Transfer to County Antrim, Ireland and check in at The Bushmills Inn Hotel, the home of the world’s oldest distillery where you will stay for two nights. Dinner is taken in the hotel. Day 7Visit The Bushmills Distillery and learn the secrets of 400 years of distilling at the home of Irish whiskey and in the afternoon, if you wish, play The Royal Portrush Golf Course Day 8Transfer to Dublin [150 miles] and check into The Merrion Hotel where you will stay for three nights. The afternoon is free to explore Dublin. Dinner will be taken in the hotel. Day 9After breakfast, visit The Old Jameson Distillery in Dublin and discover the time honoured secret of how three simple ingredients, water, barley and yeast and transformed into the smooth golden spirit which is Irish whiskey. After lunches take a guided tour of the city with your chauffeur stopping off at the places you want to explore. In the evening dinner and entertainment is provided at The Irish House Party, set in a magnificent 18th century Georgian townhouse in leafy and historic Dublin 4, The Irish House Party is a traditional Irish music and dance show..
