Golf

The world famous Machrihanish Golf Club has a challenging links course and is just over an hour's drive from Crinan. There are also several 9 hole golf courses in the area

Leisure Activities

Being at the western end of the Crinan Canal there are walks available along the canal towpath, the Woodland Trust walk and others - the views are spectacular out towards the islands of Jura and Mull.

Boat Trips are available during which you may be able to see whales and dolphins.

As well as golf, the following activities can be found locally - fishing, shooting, cycling, horse riding, tennis. There is also a swimming pool and sports centre in nearby Lochgilphead.

Shopping

There are no shopping facilities in Crinan other than our Gallery Shop at Crinan Hotel. Here you will find original paintings by well known artists Frances Macdonald and Ross Ryan.

Dining

Excellent reviews have been received for our Westward restaurant and also our Bar Menu. Menus are created by our chef, Ben Tish, using the finest local ingredients. A children's menu is also available.

We also have a coffee shop at the canal basin which serves home-baking and fresh coffee.

Transport

BY ROAD
Traveling North from Glasgow - take the A82 to Tarbet on Loch Lomond, follow the A83 over the Rest and Be Thankful to Inveraray and on to Lochgilphead where you should take the A816, towards Oban, for approx 2 miles before turning left at Cairnbaan to drive alongside the canal to Crinan at the west end of the canal.

Traveling South from Oban - take the A816 until a mile past Kilmartin and then take a right onto the B8025. Stay on this road for a few miles until you cross the Crinan Canal at Bellanoch where you should turn right and follow the canal to Crinan.

Travel by seaplane and land in Loch Crinan in front of the hotel. Travel with Loch Lomond Seaplanes.

Broadband has not yet arrived in Crinan but we can offer you the use of the Internet and our office facilities.

We have experience in holding conferences and seminars at the hotel. Please contact the hotel to discuss your requirements.

Arrivals & Departures

Arrival Time - Any time to suit our guests- usually around 2pm.
Departure Time - Before midday
Late check outs are available subject to prior arrangement

Reservations & Cancellations

At point of booking we require a deposit of £50.00 per room per night which can be secured by credit card.

Our cancellation policy reserves the right to set the deposit against any loss we may suffer as a result of the cancellation. We recommend that guests cover themselves with travel insurance.

Q. How far is Crinan from Glasgow?
A. About 100 miles or 2 hours travel time by road.

Q. Are children welcome?
A. Of course. A special tariff is available depending on requirements.
We have a special children's menu in the bar with high chairs available.
Children may also dine in the Westward restaurant.

Q. Can we bring our dog?
A. Yes. We would ask the breed of dog and advise of a small charge to accommodate your dog but you must bring your dog's own bedding.

Q. What seafood will be on the menu?
A. This is largely dependent on the fishermen and the weather but if you advise of a particular requirement we will endeavour to have this on the menu.

Q. We don't eat fish.
A. As well as seafood our menu covers meat and vegetarian dishes. Should you have a particular dietary requirement then let us know.
