Cringletie House boasts a 400 years old walled kitchen garden. Times have changed and not all of the garden is used for the kitchen anymore. However, Chef Craig Gibb, in close co-operation with the owners and Consultant Mr Jim McKay, grows a large amount of his required vegetables in the walled garden. Part of the Victorian greenhouse is also in use for this purpose. A wealth of hard and soft fruits are harvested every year from Cringletie’s fruit trees and bushes. It is extremely satisfying to be able to harvest from one's own garden. One can't get it fresher!

The Walled Garden at Cringletie has been restored to its old glory. The centrepiece is the 400 year old Yew Hedge - as impressive as ever. Maintaining and restoring its wonderful shape is a long lasting affair. Elsewhere a variety of cut flowers supply the hotel with seasonal fresh flowers.

A large part of the Walled Garden is dedicated to the growing of fruit and vegetables. Cringletie grows primarily special vegetables including asparagus, artichokes and purple broccoli that are not so easy to obtain from day to day suppliers. The soil of the walled garden is so good that it regularly produces huge cauliflowers and pumpkins for the kitchens. A whole sector of the Walled Garden is dedicated to outdoor games. Chess, Draughts and Petanque.
