Knockinaam Lodge

Top level discreet small hotel which can be hired exclusively, with unique team bonding options

Knockinaam Lodge is one of Scotland's finest small hotels at the south west tip of Scotland, set in 50 acres of grounds.

This nine-bedroom hotel makes it an excellent destination for top level discreet private meetings: Sir Winston Churchill met General Eisenhower and their chief of staffs here during the Second World War.

Owners Sian and David Ibbotson recommend brain storming sitting on the rocks looking out to the Irish sea. Although Knockinaam is normally run as a hotel, it has the versatile option of exclusive use to make it ideal as a base for a key corporate event.

Business facilities: The drawing room can be used for meetings for up to 10 guests formally or 20 informally. Rates for exclusive let range from £2000 to £3500 for up to 18 people. It is also possible to also have a marquee set in the grounds.

Team bonding/relaxation: Informal team building weekends have included four wheel driving, sea fishing, raft building and ocean sailing for guests. There is a clay pigeon trap allowing groups to shoot clays over the sea. The Michelin-starred chef has even allowed teams of guests to cook dinner under his supervision!

Dining: Skilful use of local Scottish produce and a stunning cellar make dining memorable, especially in the elegant candlelit restaurant .

Transport: Two hours drive from Glasgow
