4 day Highland
Itinerary

| Leaving
Inverlochy we headed south for Crinan. At Oban we had to stop and admire the Hebridean
Princess anchored in the bay.
This
yacht has several cruise programmes which cover much of Scotland's dramatic West
Coast and the Islands. One more item for our next Scottish vacation. Turning of
the main road from Oban and finding ourselves driving alongside the Crinan Canal
was a delightfully |
different experience.
The landscape while much softer and smaller in scale than the grand views of the
previous days was nevertheless very enchanting. By
the time we arrived at the head of the canal a sense of peace and relaxation was
already upon us. | |

| Meeting
Nick Ryan for the first time confirmed that this was indeed an enchanted spot.
Nick and his staff gave us a real family style welcome. Our evening meal in the famed Lock 16 restaurant was
a banquet of the freshest seafood accompanied by some of the best wines I tasted
on this trip.
|
As the sun set over
the Sound of Jura we could see for miles over the Gulf of Corryvreckan.
This
is a truly inspirational location and has been the source of many wonderful paintings
by Nick's talented artist wife, Frances. more » |
