Rail Travel to and Within Scotland

Fast and efficient cross-border rail services are available from many parts of England and Wales to Scotland. These services are run by GNER and Virgin Trains.

There is also an overnight service provided by ScotRail - this is the Caledonian Sleeper Service running from London, Euston to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Fort William, Glasgow and Inverness.

Within Scotland the rail operator is ScotRail.

Journey times vary considerable - however as a guide the Glasgow Edinburgh link takes 45 minutes approx, Edinburgh to Aberdeen 2hr 15 mins approx and Edinburgh/Glasgow to London between 4.5 hours and 6 hours.
